Vicki was Chief Partnership Officer
She was responsible for the foundation's work to build partnerships to scale good ideas across the UK.
Vicki was previously Nesta’s Executive Director of Programmes, overseeing practical programmes to test new ideas and scale the best to support government and community innovation and education improvement. She also oversaw grantmaking across the foundation and built up our presence and work in Wales and Scotland.
Awarded an MBE in 2020 for services to social action, Vicki is a long time advocate for the potential of people-powered public services, and for growing kindness and neighbourliness in communities. She is an active volunteer as a youth worker and first aider, and sits on the board of the UK's largest children's reading charity BookTrust and visionary Scottish charity WEvolution.
Before joining Nesta, Vicki worked in local government, and for charities and think tanks in a range of social policy fields. She is a regular conference speaker and panelist, and has published 20 Tools for Innovating in Government: A Handbook for Practitioners (Sept 2019) as well as Funding Innovation: A Practice Guide to Making Money Work Harder (Nov 2018)
