Mireya was responsible for the evaluation and analysis of social investment opportunities with particular responsibility of the fund’s ‘Sustainable Communities’ investments.
Prior to joining Nesta in October 2014, Mireya completed the OnPurpose leadership programme for professionals transitioning from the private sector into the social enterprise space, where she worked on two 6-month secondments at Big Society Capital (BSC) and the charity Shakespeare Schools Festival (SSF).
At BSC, she supported social investments into social investment financial intermediaries, researched issue-based areas and supported social impact measurement initiatives. At SSF, she advised the strategy and operations team and developed new revenue generating opportunities.
Mireya completed an MBA at London Business School where she was co-president of the Impact Investing club and the (GSVC) Global Social Venture Competition. During that time, Mireya also collaborated for the Inter-American Development Bank in their base-of-the-pyramid investments team.
Mireya’s background before business school is corporate finance and private equity real estate, having collaborated for EY and LaSalle Investment Management in Mexico City.
