Head of Corporate Social Innovation
Kate was responsible for managing Nesta's Corporate Social Innovation and Inclusive Growth work
She was responsible for engaging the private sector in social innovation and managing the team that run the Inclusive Economy Partnership which was an innovative partnership between government, civil society, the private sector and innovators to tackle some of society's biggest challenges.
Prior to joining Nesta, Kate founded Thrive, a business and development consultancy which specialised in impact investment and building social enterprise in Sub-Saharan Africa. She also helped set up a co-working space for innovators and entrepreneurs in Blantyre, Malawi.
Kate has spent the majority of her career at the intersection of business and civil society including working to support Pacific entrepreneurs grow their businesses and managing a large-scale renewable energy programme across the Pacific. She has also worked for New Zealand's largest property company and has run large-scale political campaigns.
Kate is a proud Kiwi and holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management (UK) and an MA from the University of Auckland (NZ). In her spare time, Kate supports African entrepreneurs and female candidates to run for office and loves to 'wild swim' in the Thames.
