Researcher, Startups and Entrepreneurship
Elina worked with the Startups and Entrepreneurship team at Nesta. Her focus was on supporting high-growth entrepreneurship through actionable research on the entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Before joining Nesta, Elina was a Researcher at the CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis. She worked on consultancy for the European Commission that looked at the impact and best practice of R&D tax incentives across the EU. She was also a short-term consultant at The World Bank, working on the case study of (Seed) Enterprise Investment Scheme in the UK.
Prior to that, she worked at an international retailer in the Baltics, acting in different positions across the organization.
Elina holds a BA in International Economics and Economic Diplomacy from the University of Latvia and MSc in Policy Evaluation from Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. In her spare time, Elina works on her start-up ‘Vilina’ which sells personalized mittens and socks, made by the elderly masters in Latvia.
