Nesta is an innovation foundation. For us, innovation means turning bold ideas into reality and changing lives for the better. We use our expertise, skills and funding in areas where there are big challenges facing society.
Senior Manager, People Powered Results
Christine was a senior manager for People Powered Results (PPR), later appointed to lead PPR's work in Scotland.
Christine joined the PPR team at Nesta in 2020 to lead the team's work in Scotland, working closely with the Nesta in Scotland team.
There was a portfolio of programmes established in Scotland, from harnessing PPR's approaches to supporting place-based learning and innovation. Much of the portfolio’s work was focused on support for organisations following on from covid-19 and adopting people-powered approaches to listen and learn from staff and empower communities, shifting relationships between communities, statutory services and community anchor organisations.
Christine trained as an occupational therapist and has a clinical leadership, academic, user research and improvement science background. She has used these different modes of working to support large-scale change programmes across the public sector and communities.
In her spare time, she is a trustee on the board of directors for Carr Gomm, a leading Scottish social care and community development charity, and has worked as a volunteer therapist for a charity that supports migrant Myanmar families with children who have cerebral palsy.
She loves the great outdoors, travelling and music (please note Zoom background!) and most importantly tries very hard to get better at parenting a teenage son!
