Over the course of 2019, we invited forecasters to make predictions on topical questions - from Brexit to the economy, politics and major global events. Individual forecasts were combined to generate collective ‘wisdom of the crowd’ predictions. Participants saw forecasts update in real-time and exchanged analysis with others. In an uncertain world, this experiment was an opportunity to get smarter about the future.
The Centre for Collective Intelligence Design is committed to growing and supporting a community of people working to solve social challenges by combining human and machine intelligence. We undertake a range of projects and also fund others to develop new ideas, different approaches, and research issues that help us understand how best to design for collective intelligence.
We’re interested in testing the ‘wisdom of crowds’ principle for predictions made under conditions of high geopolitical uncertainty. The results from the YouPredict2019 Challenge contributed to our ongoing research on collective intelligence.
