About Nesta

Nesta is an innovation foundation. For us, innovation means turning bold ideas into reality and changing lives for the better. We use our expertise, skills and funding in areas where there are big challenges facing society.

Are you a planning policy specialist who would like to explore the role of planning to improve public health? Join us at Nesta, working in partnership with Public Health Scotland, for a three-to-four month paid residency (starting in September 2024) where you can shape our work in exploring how national planning legislation can support positive changes to the food environment in Scotland. More information about the role and what we are offering can be found in the open call document.

To apply, send your CV or LinkedIn to [email protected] along with your answers to these two questions.

  1. What skills and experience would you bring to the residency? [Max 250 words - shorter is fine]
  2. Tell us what you feel might be the main challenge when trying to develop new planning policy or practice and how might we mitigate it? [Max 250 words - shorter is fine]

The application deadline is 23:59, 4 August 2024.

We are keen to have the broadest lived experience possible represented as part of the programme. If you have had a non-traditional career in this sector, we would like to hear from you.
