Provenance is a tech company which has designed software for product-making business to share the story behind their products at the point of sale.
Consumers can access information on, for example, a product’s supply chain or where it has come from, either online or instore, thanks to an ecommerce plugin and an ID generator for labels also designed by Provenance.
The company was founded by a group of individuals who wanted to encourage education and dialogue about how things are made. The aim is that this leads to people making more informed choices and buying more environmentally and socially positive products.
Says the team: “Exploring products online is currently limited to metrics such as price, brand and colour.
"At Provenance we believe in opening up more information to shoppers, we help makers open up supply chain data with the aim of empowering shoppers to make more informed choices.”
