About Nesta

Nesta is an innovation foundation. For us, innovation means turning bold ideas into reality and changing lives for the better. We use our expertise, skills and funding in areas where there are big challenges facing society.

This event took place on Tuesday 4 October 2022.

The UK urgently needs to shift to greener ways to heat our homes. How far can heat pumps accelerate the transition? And how can government and industry support the switch?

We were joined by experts from energy and finance sectors, and consumer groups, to demystify the green energy transition and explore the advantages of domestic heat pump adoption for both consumers and the economy.

Our panel examined how heat electrification could address immediate energy and economic challenges, alongside the UK’s long-term energy strategy and move to net zero. Together they outlined the steps that industry and government will need to take to remove barriers and support widespread heat pump adoption.
