DECODE's final symposium will focus on constructing viable democratic alternatives to Big Tech.
While decentralised technologies promise some respite against the digital economy’s tendencies towards centralisation and monopolisation, their radical transformative potential could certainly benefit from a more ambitious policy agenda. After reviewing the most promising and impactful technologies on day one, this symposium will dedicate day two to discussing how such projects could fit into the broader context of Europe’s efforts to protect fundamental rights of its citizens, and restore its economic and technological sovereignty.
This event will be taking place over the 5th and 6th of November, please register to the day you wish to attend.
This event is curated by Francesca Bria and Evgeny Morozov, and brought to you by Nesta Italia and Nesta in partnership with the City of Turin, the Festival of Technologia, Lavazza, New Institut and TopIX.
