Crowdfunding is a method of financing projects and businesses through many small donations or investments from a large group of people. The funding process is usually facilitated by dedicated websites or online platforms.
Nesta has been researching and supporting organisations to make the most of crowdfunding for 8 years now, and over this time it has moved from a radical new tool to a mainstream way of raising funding.
Who is it for and why should I come?
Join us to explore whether crowdfunding has lived up to its predicted hype as a force for innovation and democratisation of finance, and to discuss what this means for policy makers and regulators, the practicalities of running a crowdfunding campaign and for institutions supporting crowdfunding projects (such as through running matched crowdfunding schemes).
Registration will open at 12:30PM with the event starting promptly at 1:00PM. The event will close at 2:30PM.
