Power in health and care is changing. Demands are increasing for knowledge, decisions and control to be shared between citizens and professionals, and between communities, frontline staff and senior leaders.
Power is often understood as a zero sum game. But some of the best innovations in health, care and wellbeing are creating a new form of power. Power that motivates and mobilises both citizens and staff. Power that connects citizens with the health, care, community and voluntary sectors to find new ways to support people to be healthy and happy.
What if, working together, we could find and harness the power to create more health, care and wellbeing for everyone?
The Future of People Powered Health 2018 brought together hundreds of citizens, professionals, campaigners, commissioners, and policymakers - all committed to creating a more people powered approach to health and wellbeing. The day combined inspirational showcases with interactive sessions that enabled everyone to create new connections and actionable insights.
