About Nesta

Nesta is an innovation foundation. For us, innovation means turning bold ideas into reality and changing lives for the better. We use our expertise, skills and funding in areas where there are big challenges facing society.

This event took place on Tuesday 4 October 2022.

Research shows that children and young people experiencing obesity are more likely to live with excess weight as an adult, increasing the risk of obesity-related health problems in later life. Ensuring that school food is healthy and nutritious could be the key to improving young people’s health and outcomes in later life.

Nesta, The Food Foundation, BiteBack 2030 and School Food Review for came together for a panel event hosted by Onward where we examined the role of school food in addressing health inequalities, embedding healthy eating from a young age, and interventions to curtail the impact of junk food on children’s diets.
