About Nesta

Nesta is an innovation foundation. For us, innovation means turning bold ideas into reality and changing lives for the better. We use our expertise, skills and funding in areas where there are big challenges facing society.

Recent findings from the Early Education and Childcare Coalition (EECC) show that a significant majority of UK voters believe that increasing investment in early childcare and education will enhance children's life chances and yield substantial benefits for the nation. The global evidence supporting the long-term returns on investment in the early years is also compelling. Despite this, it’s unclear how much the government will be prioritising investment in the early years.

Nesta’s fairer start mission is hosting a panel event at the Labour Party Conference to delve into the case for increased investment in the early years, education and early child development. We’ll be bringing together policymakers and early-years experts to explore the evidence supporting more investment in the early years, discuss the complexities and challenges and explore differing perspectives on its potential long-term impact on the economy and society.

If you’re attending the Labour Party Conference join us on Tuesday 24 September from 12:30 to 14:00, in Meeting Room 10 (The ACC).
