This interactive map of the geography of creativity in the UK shows the economic performance of DCMS creative sub-sectors and creative industries overall across the UK, based on official ONS data from the Business Structure Database.
Select a sub-sector and metric and hover over areas to see how it ranks against the rest of the UK.
The shade of an area indicates its relative specialisation in the selected sector and variable.
The figures for creative sub-sectors are for 2011-14, and for creative industries for 2014. The geographies used are 2011 Travel To Work Areas capturing local labour markets.
The maps were produced by James Gardiner using Leaflet.js, based on a data analysis by Juan Mateos-Garcia.
