European Prizes - Programme Manager
Joshua Ryan-Saha was the Programme Manager for the 'Future Prizes: Designing ICT prizes for Europe' programme, leading the design of 8-12 new multi-million euro challenge prizes. Joshua was also the lead prize designer for the Everglades Grand Challenge, a $10m challenge prize for cost-effective phosphorus removal from aquatic ecosystems. From October 2013 to October 2015 Joshua was Prize Design Lead for the Longitude Prize, the £10m challenge to conserve antibiotics for future generation.
Prior to joining Nesta in October 2013, Joshua worked as a consultant in Bosnia and Herzegovina working with a range of international organizations developing and delivering projects related to constitutional reform and reconciliation as well as working with smaller NGOs to improve their presentation skills.
Joshua started his career in local government as a participant in the sector’s National Graduate Development Programme, working at the London Borough of Newham on a number of transformation projects across a range of service areas including education, social care, housing, and crime reduction.
Joshua holds a BA (Hons) in Politics from the University of York, and a postgraduate diploma in Local Government Management from Warwick Business School.
