Abstract

This study analyses the importance of the distribution and re-distribution of resources across firms for sector level labour productivity levels and growth over the period 1998-2013.

Using a representative data set of UK businesses we consider labour productivity in 20 market sectors, offering a comprehensive picture of the relationship between firm growth dynamics and sectoral productivity performance.
