Spacehive is a crowdfunding platform that helps communities transform their local public spaces and the way their local neighbourhoods look.
Its founder Chris Gourlay, a former architecture journalist for The Sunday Times, was frustrated by the dearth of investment and creativity in public spaces which led him to set up the company.
Through Spacehive, Chris wants to encourage a reinvention of the way society thinks about its public spaces and the benefits it can bring to the wider community.
Since it was set up, Spacehive has helped more than 200 projects including a new garden in Hackney’s Morland Estate, a sculpture walk by the Thames in London and the restoration of the Cleveland Pools, the UK’s last remaining Georgian lido.
