Governments have pioneered some of the greatest innovations in modern history. Driven by entrepreneurial and visionary leadership, city and national governments are capable of amazing things.
But often governments can struggle to find the space and time to invest in the future. Smart political leadership recognises as much and puts in place the dedicated capacities that enable innovation. These are the i-teams.
At this event we launched the i-teams report, a study by Nesta and Bloomberg Philanthropies, which tells the stories of 20 of the most established of these government innovation teams and funds from around the world.
The event was chaired by Geoff Mulgan, Chief Executive at Nesta, who led the discussion with some of the i-team leaders from around the world, including Memphis Innovation Delivery Team, La 27e Région, and MindLab.
